A vacation you can enjoy with a clear conscience!

You’ve earned it! Yes, work and everyday life these days can be exhausting and often take a toll on your energy. A vacation in the Mühlviertel means recharging your batteries; a singles vacation at the AVIVA – a hotel unlike any other in Europe – will give you plenty of energy through wellness, sports, and, of course, making lots of new friends. We make sure of that, and we also guarantee you an environmentally and socially sustainable vacation.

One of our corporate goals is to ensure the best possible nature conservation and protection of our resources. We have therefore changed many of our internal processes to achieve this goal. Thanks to our many initiatives aimed at sustainability, we have been recognized as a Climate Alliance business. Since May 2023, we have also been officially awarded the EU Ecolabel and the Austrian Environmental Label!

Our activities are diverse:

A 440 kWp solar power system on the parking lot canopy and a 63 kWp system on the hotel roof. This generates approximately 70% of the hotel’s annual electricity needs.
A 32,000-liter rainwater cistern for use in the hotel’s in-house laundry facility
A 4-day workweek for many employees—by eliminating the fifth workday each week, all employees collectively save approximately 2,000 km per month in commuting distance
Employees have access to a Mercedes-Benz EQA electric vehicle at a reduced cost, with the option to charge it at one of the 6 charging stations
Environmentally friendly pellet heating system for heat and hot water in the hotel
Solar system to supplement hot water production
Smart lighting control and LED or energy-saving light bulbs
Optimal use of water and hot water through water-saving measures
Avoiding buffet-style meals, which typically generate more food waste
The hotel’s own herb garden, providing direct access to about 20 varieties of herbs for the kitchen (no transportation or storage required)
About 80% of the food and beverages are sourced from within 50 km
Beer is brewed on-site at the hotel’s own brewery—no transportation required
Guests have the option to travel by train and continue their journey via an affordable shuttle from Linz and Passau
AVIVA offers guests a ride-sharing platform on its website—guests can easily share rides for arrival and departure
Guests have the option to opt out of room cleaning and/or towel changes. We deduct 5 per night per guest from the hotel bill for this.
Waste reduction by avoiding single-use and micro-packaging
Precise waste separation in accordance with legal regulations
On-site laundry facility—all linens are washed at the hotel—thereby eliminating the need for rented linens, which are typically transported to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, or Poland, washed, and then returned. This saves approximately 120,000 km in truck travel.
Use of environmentally friendly cleaning products
The entire booking process is computer-based—therefore, paper is not required
Digital guest information folder and app for the daily sports and entertainment program—this saves countless pages of paper
We care for nature and biodiversity by planting our green spaces and treating nature and animals with respect

Are you staying with us and want to do your part? We’ve put together a few ideas for you:

Travel by public transportation and use our AVIVA Shuttle or our carpool service to reduce your CO2 emissions
Bring your own bath slippers to reduce plastic waste
Reuse your towels to reduce water consumption
Use our Green Option… this way, you’ll opt out of room cleaning and towel changes. In return, we’ll deduct 5 per night per guest from your hotel bill
Take only as much food as you’ll actually eat and help fight food waste
Sort your trash properly even while on vacation
Feel free to bring your own bathrobe and help reduce water consumption
