Are you looking for a varied, sporty but relaxing holiday? Do you like travelling in unspoilt nature? Then the Hiking & Biking days are just the thing for you. Spend a few days at the AVIVA and explore the hilly Mühlviertel and the Bohemian Forest on foot or by bike.
Mountain bikes are at your disposal if you want to take part in bike tours with your own muscle power. If you prefer a more leisurely pace, you can also take part in the tours on an e-mountain bike.
You can also experience the surrounding area all the way to the Czech Republic on guided hiking tours. Get your own impression of the hilly granite landscape of the Mühlviertel or the Czech border as far as the Vltava reservoir.
You can expect 2 guided hikes and 2 guided mountain bike tours/e-bike tours with our experienced guides.

- Hike from Bad Leonfelden to the Sternstein
- The Sternstein is 1,125 metres high and lies in the beautiful Austrian landscape of the Mühlviertel. There is a lookout point on the top of the mountain, which was opened in 1899 and reaches 20 metres into the sky. From there you have a marvellous view over Upper Austria and the Czech Republic. Approx. 13 km / altitude approx. 400 metres / walking time approx. 3.5 hours / difficulty: easy
Tuesday
- Hike to the Wittinghausen ruins in the Czech Republic
- Trail conditions: Mainly forest and meadow paths / Walking time: 4 hours, 20 km and approx. 450 m elevation gain
- The castle was founded in the 13th century and rebuilt in the 14th century. From the tower you can enjoy a wonderful view over the Bohemian Forest and the Vltava reservoir.
Wednesday
- Mountain bike tour to Lipno on the Vltava reservoir
- Departure to the Vltava reservoir – via the Guglwald border crossing to Lipno – /ride along the Vltava reservoir to the ferry / – ferry crossing. Return to the AVIVA via tarmac, forest and meadow paths
- Distance: approx. 45 kilometres/approx. 450 m ascent
- Difficulty level: medium
- Good physical condition required. Also possible with an e-bike
Thursday
- Mountain bike tour through the Mühlviertel region
- Explore the Mühlviertel on forest trails with our guide Charly.

Screenreader- und Tastatur-Navigation
