A pleasure for ALL the senses – hiking in spring. This time of year has its own special charm. The last snow still lies on the higher meadows. The first flowers delight the eye. The air is clear and filled with the earthy scent of the trees. You have decided to spend a few relaxing days at the AVIVA. It’s spring and nature is awakening in all its splendour. The sun shines in the sky as you wander through the rolling hills and flowering meadows.
When you arrive at the AVIVA, you immediately feel the relaxed atmosphere. The staff give you a warm welcome and make sure you feel completely at ease. You move into your cosy room and open the window to let in the fresh spring scent.
The next morning, you set off on your first hike full of anticipation. The AVIVA offers a variety of routes that take you through picturesque landscapes and breathtaking views. You set off and are amazed by the beauty of the nature around you. You discover colourful flowers, hear the chirping of birds and feel the warming sun on your skin.
During your hikes, you will also meet other AVIVA guests who, like you, can enjoy nature and the spring air.
You’ll swap stories, share your experiences and discover common interests. It’s wonderful to make new friends and explore the beauty of the surroundings together.After a long day of adventure, you return to the AVIVA exhausted but happy.Here you can pamper yourself in the wellness area and relax your tired muscles. Enjoy a soothing massage or relax in the whirlpool while you reflect on the day’s experiences.In the evening, meet up with your new friends for dinner.The AVIVA offers a delicious selection of dishes prepared from fresh, regional ingredients. You laugh, enjoy the food and swap plans for the next day.

- The price for you is valid for single occupancy, for friends for double occupancy per person.
- All prices are per person and stay and include the programme listed and all hotel inclusive services.
- The prices quoted are inclusive of VAT, plus the statutory local tax of 3.50 and a service charge of 3.50 per person per night.

Monday
- 10:00 – approx. 14:00 Hike along the Steinerne Mühl and the Große Mühl. Travel with the AVIVA shuttle to Haslach. From there along the Steinerne Mühl. Across the Mühlviertel over a hill towards the Große Mühl. Along the Große Mühl back to Haslach. (Approx. 15 km, 400 metres in altitude, duration: 4 hours)
Tuesday
- 10.00 – approx. 15.00 Hike to Haslach an der Mühl to the traditional oil mill. This mill in Haslach has been grinding seeds and producing linseed oil for more than 600 years. This mill is already listed as one of three mills in the ‘Haslacher Urbar of 1379’. It has been owned by the Koblmiller family for over 250 years. The hike leads directly from the AVIVA along tarmac, forest and meadow paths to Haslach. On the way to Haslach we have a wonderful panoramic view over the hilly landscape of the Mühlviertel. After a tour of the village of Haslach, we continue along the Steinernes Mühl towards the oil mill. You can buy various oils (linseed oil, hemp oil, poppy seed oil, safflower oil, pumpkin seed oil) in the associated shop. There is an explanation of the oils and the opportunity to sample them. Afterwards, the route leads uphill through the forest back to the Aviva. (approx. 15 km, 500 metres in altitude)
Wednesday
- 10.30 – approx. 15.30 Hike to Helfenberg Castle
Above the rooftops of Helfenberg lies the castle of the same name, which is owned by the Revertera family.First documented in 1224 in the writings of Hohenfurth Abbey, it can truly call itself a Helfenberg original.If you walk along the Granite Pilgrimage Trail, you will pass Helfenberg Castle and can experience the outer garden with its beautifully pruned yew avenue.The trees were planted around 1900 by Countess Olimpia Revertera, the great-grandmother of the current owner Dominik Revertera.Mighty cypresses, thujas, beeches, old rhododendrons and magnolias can also be found in the castle garden, as well as the fountain from 1625 by master stonemason Hans Getzinger from Haslach.
