Monday
- Hike through the Pesenbach Valley
10:00 a.m. – approx. 2:30 p.m. | approx. 10 km | 300 m elevation gain
Mystical granite cliffs, moss-covered rocks, and the clear waters of the Pesenbach make this hike a special experience in nature. The trail winds through the gorge-like Pesenbach Valley, passing unique spots such as the “Blue Alley,” the “Blue Pool,” and the mystical Kerzenstein, the valley’s landmark. Along the way, we’ll also encounter the legendary Devil’s Tubs—large, round pools in the stream surrounded by many a legend.
Tuesday
- Hike to Heiliges Wasser
10:00 a.m. – approx. 2:30 p.m. | Šumava National Park
Together, we’ll cross the Austrian-Czech border into the beautiful Šumava National Park. Through rolling hills, quiet forests, and idyllic meadow paths, the hike leads to the pilgrimage site of Heiliges Wasser. The special atmosphere of the place and the natural spring make this destination a truly unique experience.
Along the way, there will of course be time to enjoy beautiful views, pleasant conversations, and the shared joy of nature.
Wednesday
- Hike to Helfenberg Castle
10:30 a.m. – approx. 3:30 p.m. | approx. 13 km | 450 m elevation gain
The trail winds through varied forest and meadow paths across the rolling countryside around Helfenberg to the historic Helfenberg Castle. First mentioned as early as 1224, the castle sits picturesquely above the rooftops of Helfenberg. In the castle gardens, we’ll find an impressive avenue of yew trees, old trees, rhododendrons, and magnolias, as well as a historic fountain dating back to 1625.
A short break in the castle gardens gives us time to catch our breath and take it all in. Nature, history, and magnificent views—a hike with a special destination. Trail conditions: hilly, forest and meadow trails | Break: approx. 15 minutes
